How You Can Help
Part-time Volunteers Needed to Assist With Feeding Fire Survivors Through the Holiday Season!
Please come out to assist fire families in the Harris Fire region by helping prepare and serve meals to residents and assist with kitchen clean up. Part-time volunteers are asked to come for a short shift of about 5 1/2 hours, starting at 1 pm and ending around 6:30 pm, to aid with meal preparation and serving meals in the mobile kitchen unit. Kitchen clean up tasks begin at 6:30 p.m. We are located at the Churches of Christ Center, at the intersection of Barrett Lake Road and Highway 94, Dulzura, CA 91917 (Across from the Barrett Junction Cafe).
Please contact Site Manager, Laura Cremeans, for additional information and volunteer coordination at: (937) 308-2259 or email her at disasterrelief@hotmail.com
Thank you in advance for your service to these families in
need. Your help is much appreciated and
valued. Happy Holidays!
From Phil at FFCC - Hi Team
Several fire families have come forth with a wish list for the holidays and we're looking for supporters. If your family, your business or your group of friends would like to "adopt a family" by shopping for items they've requested, we can match you up. Show them how much our community truly
cares. Contact Becky Palenske today, before this season comes and goes! bpalenske@san.rr.com or 858 538-2492.
In my last couple of e-mails I shared with you the needs of a mom who lost all of her CPR/first aid equipment to the fire. The total loss was approx $2,000. Once again, you rallied and covered every need this mom had. Thank
you FFCC team for running with this mom and providing for her needs.
This Saturday FFCC and Dream Dinners will be putting together 250 Christmas Dinners for families who lost their homes on the La Jolla Indian Reservation, in Ramona, Fallbrook and Delzura. Katy and Rachel, from Rebuild Escondido, are doing a great job in organizing this effort. Each meal will consist of a turkey, turkey rub, 3 cheese mash potatoes, green bean casserole, dressing, cheesecake and topping. It will be an awesome meal for these families. We will have 4 shifts of volunteers beginning at
8:00am on Saturday, 10:00am, 12:00pm and 2:00pm. We will need 20 volunteers for each shift and the first 3 shifts are already covered. The 2:00 shift is still open. If you would like to help us out for 2 hours on Saturday at
2:00, let me know. We will also need teams to deliver the food to the 4 areas on Sunday. Let me know if you would like to help with that also. Donations are always welcomed and are tax deductable. You can mail your donation to 12463 Rancho Bernardo Rd. PMB 158, San Diego 92128.
There is no outdoor work day planned until the 1st of the year. This weekend we will focus our efforts preparing these Christmas Dinners. We will pick things back up after the first of the year unless an emergency arises. I will be flying to Tanzania Africa on Jan 4th for 2 weeks
delivering our 2nd 300,000 meal shipment going out December 28.
Christ in Action is needing volunteers that would like to
help in a variety of services to Assist victims of the recent wild fires. They
are working out of Mountain View Community Church
in Ramona for more info call 760)789-0866. This organization travels through
out the country providing help and support to those affected by natural
disasters.
